Rare Small-Sized Stoneware Pitcher with Elaborate Cobalt Decoration, attributed to A.P. Donaghho, Parkersburg, WV, circa 1870, ovoid pitcher with flaring collar, brush-decorated around the body with three different flower blossoms between freehand stripes. Collar decorated with graduated vertical slash motifs. Brushed diagonal decoration to spout. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Featuring exceptional size and desirable form, this work is among the finest-decorated products of Donaghho's Parkersburg operation that we have offered. Significant wear to spout. A small chip and wear to rim. Wear to handle. H 6 1/2".
