Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. & E. NORTON / BENNINGTON VT," circa 1855, cylindrical jug with squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed floral design bearing two blossoms with stripes and long stamens. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent condition with minor staining, a minor inverted U-shaped line to spout, and a black crayon inscription on underside. H 16".
