One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Ochre Floral Decoration, Stamped "L. NORTON & SON," Bennington, VT, circa 1833-1841, highly-ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, brush-decorated with a flower in reddish-brown ochre slip. Provenance: From a fifty-year VA collection. Excellent condition with minor in-the-firing flaws, minor residue to surface, and the later penciled date "1833-38" on the bottom. H 11 3/8".
