Three Cobalt-Stenciled Stoneware Jars, Western PA origin, circa 1875, a canning jar with "wax sealer" rim, stenciled "J.E. ENEIX. / NEW GENEVA. PA; a canning jar with "wax sealer" rim, stenciled "JAS. HAMILTON & CO. / GREENSBORO. PA.;" and a one-and-a-half-gallon jar, stenciled "HAMILTON AND / JONES, / GREENSBORO. PA." Eneix jar with a crack across underside, continuing 3 3/8" up front and a 1 1/4" up reverse. Hamilton canning jar with significant sealed cracks in underside and at base including two small chips to underside, a large rim chip, and chips and wear to interior of rim and inner rim for lid. shallow chipping around interior of rim, two small chips and a minor wear to inner rim for lid, and some wear to cobalt. Hamilton & Jones jar with a glazed-over dent to underside of rim, a small glazed-over base chip, a short vertical line at base on reverse, and some staining. H (of Eneix jar) 9 3/4".
