Miniature Albany-Slip-Glazed Stoneware Jug with Incised Floral Decoration, New York State or New England origin, possibly Julius Norton, Bennington, VT, circa 1840 highly-ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a finely-incised floral motif featuring a spotted blossom emanating from a series of fanned leaves. Surface covered in an a chocolate-brown Albany slip. Decoration relates to brushed motifs found on earlier-period Julius Norton stoneware. Excellent condition with minor wear to edge of handle and interior of spout. H 4 3/4".
