Cold-Painted Redware Snake-Handled Ewer, American, late 19th century, with classical form, featuring a pronounced foot, ovoid body, tall, narrow neck, and upswept spout, the handle modeled in the form of a snake with coiled tail and pierced eyes. Original yellow-and-black paint to surface. Incised characters on underside simulating Greek. Provenance: George H. Meyer Collection; acquired from David Good. Very nice condition with minor chipping to foot and paint wear. H 10 3/4".
