Four-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Numeral Decoration, Stamped "HAXSTUN, OTTMAN & CO. / FORT EDWARD N.Y.," circa 1875, cylindrical jug with tooled spout, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of the number, "4," with striped interior. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Very nice condition. A minor in-the-firing line to bottom edge on reverse. In-the-firing lines to upper handle terminal. Some light surface beside decoration, including a small surface flake. H 18".
