Very Rare Salt-Glazed Stoneware Ring Jug, Stamped "POE & CO.," Edgar Allen Poe and John B. Broadfoot, Fayetteville, NC, circa 1893-1897, wheel-thrown, ring-shaped vessel with separately-thrown and applied spout, the surface covered in a heavy salt glaze. Exceptional form with outstanding provenance. Literature: Illustrated and discussed in Scarborough, E.A. Poe, 1858-1934: Merchant of Clay, pg. 58. Provenance: Page 58 of Scarborough notes, "This jug is from the Poe residence." Excellent, essentially as-made condition. Diam. 8 1/2".
