Stoneware Batter Pail with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Williamsport, PA origin, circa 1875, ovoid form with tubular pouring spout, handle at base on reverse, and applied clay tabs with wood-and-wire bail; brush-decorated on the front with two drooping carrot-shaped blossoms as well as a cobalt decoration to the base of the spout, the reverse decorated with two conjoined flowers. Cobalt highlights to tabs at shoulder and handle at base on reverse. Several small rim chips. Otherwise excellent condition. H 10".
