Two Quart-Sized Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, attributed to Henry Harrison Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1830-1840, both of cylindrical form with rounded rims, one with brushed stem around shoulder featuring leaves and stylized flower blossoms, the other with three diagonal floral and foliate motifs. Shorter jar with a semi-circular crack on underside, connecting to a 4" vertical line ascending body of jar, a second very short line at base, a 1" glazed-over ping to midsection, a smaller in-the-firing ping to opposite side, and a shallow in-the-firing flake to top of rim. Larger jar in excellent, essentially as-made condition. H (of shorter) 6 5/8".
