Two Glazed Redware Spittoons, American, second half 19th century, the two of different size and form, each covered in a related glaze treatment consisting of a grayish slip, overlying splashes of manganese, and a clear lead glaze. Smaller with a few chips to shoulder molding, a small base chip, and a minor nick to molding near base. Larger with some small surface nicks and in-the-firing pings to top, minor chipping to opening at shoulder, minor surface wear to body, and some surface wear to underside. Dimensions (of smaller): L 6" ; H 3 7/8".
