Two Two-Gallon Stoneware Crocks with Cobalt Bird Decorations, New York State origin, circa 1875-1885, both of cylindrical form, a two-gallon crock with slip-trailed chicken pecking corn motif, paired with a three-gallon crock with bird-on-branch motif. Two-gallon crock with a large Y-shaped crack on underside, forming a short Y-shaped crack at base, some restoration to base, a spot of restoration to area of chicken's foot, light scattered exfoliation, two small chips to one handle, and minor staining. Three-gallon crock with extensive restoration, not affecting decoration, small chips to interior of rim, and small in-the-firing iron ping to front, and some light staining.
