Rare Redware Insect Trap, Stamped "JOHN BELL," Waynesboro, PA, circa 1840-1880, wheel-thrown tapering form with heavily-tooled body, recessed opening in top, and carved opening at base. Recessed opening coated in a clear lead glaze over a yellowish clay body. Underside impressed with John Bell maker's mark. Excellent condition with two small base chips, some in-the-firing clay residue at base, and some staining. H 4 1/2" ; Diam. 7".
