CLARK & Co / ROCHESTER," NY State origin, circa 1839-1854, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a daisy plant with dashed petals and spotted interior. Slip-trailed "2." above. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark. Includes salt-glazed stoneware lid, impressed "2," Northeastern U.S. origin. Jar in excellent, essentially as-made condition. Lid with several chips. H (excluding lid) 11 7/8".
