Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Bank, Inscribed "L.B. / 1852," New York State origin, ovoid form with tall, stepped finial and carved vertical coin slot with incised border, brush-decorated with cobalt around the slot and on the finial. Two notches, incised prior to firing, appear at the base of the finial. Underside incised with a star along with the initials and date, ".L.B. / 1852." Very nice condition with some wear to top of finial and a minor nick to interior of slot. H 5 1/2".
