Rare Miniature Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Impressed Floral Designs, probably Ohio River Valley origin, possibly Ezekiel Wood, Maysville, KY, second half 19th century, ovoid jar with semi-rounded rim, decorated around the midsection with seven impressed and cobalt-highlighted designs of four-petaled flowers, each with crosshatched interiors. Underside incised "E W." Albany-slip-glazed interior. Exceptional size and unusual stamped decorative motifs. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a minor in-the-firing ping to shoulder. H 2 5/8" ; Diam. (at rim) 3 1/4".
