Three Pieces of Stoneware with Cobalt Bird Decorations, Northeastern U.S. origin, second half 19th century, a two-gallon crock with brushed and slip-trailed bird motif, attributed to Somerset Potters Works, Somerset, MA; a two-gallon crock with slip-trailed bird-on-branch motif, stamped "WEST TROY, / N.Y. / POTTERY;" and a two-gallon jar with brushed bird-on-flower decoration. Unmarked Somerset crock with a 2 1/2" crack from rim on front, a 3 1/2" crack from rim on reverse, small rim chips, a short line at base on reverse, and mottling/staining to surface. West Troy crock with a 3 1/2" crack from rim on front and rim chips, light staining, and a hole drilled in underside. Taller two-gallon jar with a restored rim chip on front, a spider crack in underside including a 3 1/2" line extending up front, light staining, wear to inner rim for lid, and some fry to cobalt. H (of tallest) 12".
