Rare Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "F L HARVEY WATERTOWN," NY State origin, circa 1830, highly-ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a cobalt-script "2" surrounded by a stylized wreath. Brushed cobalt highlight to mark above. The first example bearing this stamp that we have offered. Form, color, and decoration related to early N. White / Utica pieces. Two vertical lines on reverse, each measuring approximately 7 1/2". Some staining. A small spot of wear to handle. A small in-the-firing iron ping below decoration. H 13 1/2".
