Exceptional Small-Sized Redware Jug, Essex County, MA origin, late 18th or early 19th century, highly-ovoid jug with footed base, unusual narrow spout, and incised straight and wavy line decoration around shoulder. Surface covered in a heavy lead glaze over a mottled green ground with orange spotting. Very nice condition with a 3/4" base chip, a faint line through handle, a small in-the-firing ping at base, and wear to top of spout and edges of handle. H 5 1/4".
