Rare Great Road Glazed Redware Jar with Elaborate Sine Wave Decoration, Southwestern VA or Eastern TN, origin, mid 19th century, cylindrical jar with stepped turnings to shoulder and rim, the upper half elaborately-decorated with incised sine waves between straight incised lines. Surface covered in a reddish-brown lead-and-manganese glaze. Very nice condition with two 2 3/4" hairlines from rim, minor glaze wear, and small base chips. H 11 1/8".
