Half-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jug, Stamped "RN," Newberry Family, Crawford County, GA, late 19th century, cylindrical jug with rounded spout, the surface covered in a streaky, dark-brown alkaline glaze. Handle impressed "RN." Provenance: Includes an old tag that reads, "This jug was filled with homemade wine in 1875 yr my mother was born to be opened at her wedding but wasn't- It was opened 1929 Julia B + Jimmy Austins Wedding." Two small spout chips and a few small base chips. H 9".
