Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "A*GAY / UTICA," NY State origin, circa 1829, highly-ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with brushed leaning floral motif. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. A network of hairlines to spout/shoulder area on right side, a crack in base of handle, and some staining. H 13".
