Rare Anna Pottery Miniature Stoneware Chamberpot with Dung Beetle Lid, Wallace and Cornwall Kirkpatrick, Anna, IL, circa 1885, ovoid form with footed base and flared rim, decorated with the incised and cobalt-highlighted inscription, "Fine Fence Corner Perfume," with applied clay excrement and melted glass on interior. Includes original lid with applied, Albany-slip-decorated dung beetles and the cobalt-highlighted inscription, "Knights out on a strike." This chamberpot's elaborate lid makes it an exceptional example of the form. Missing handle. A few small rim chips. A small base chip and a few tiny nicks to underside at edge. Flange on underside of lid with a 1" chipped section to flange and another small chip, Two minor chips to outer edge of lid. H (including lid) 2 1/2" ; Diam. 2 1/4".
