Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird-on-Branch Motif, OH origin, circa 1880, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed design of a long-necked bird perched on a tree branch. Brushed "6" above, although crock appears closer to four or five gallons. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. A thin 6 1/2" crack from rim on front. A thin, approximately 7" crack from rim on side of crock, extending through handle. A large Y-shaped hairline on underside. A short vertical line at base on front. Chips to one handle. H 12 3/4".
