Rare Slip-Coated Redware Lamb Doorstop, attributed to J. Eberly & Co., Strasburg, VA, circa 1890, molded figure of a reclining lamb with closed eyes, covered in whitish slip. One of the quintessential Shenandoah Valley redware figural forms. A chip above one eye. A small chip to lower lip. Back with small chips and a thin firing crack. Chips to one ear. Surface wear. A 1" worn spot to bottom edge. Length 11 1/2".
