Fine Two-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Bird-on-Stump Decoration, Ballardvale, MA origin, circa 1885, semi-ovoid churn with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched atop an elaborate stump. Includes wooden dasher and guide. Excellent condition with a tiny handle nick, a shallow chip to top of rim, and a smooth, glazed-over dent to rim on reverse. H 12 7/8".
