Molded Stoneware Bean Pot with Lid, attributed to the White's Pottery, Utica, NY, late 19th century, ovoid form with handle, the surface coated in Bristol slip and decorated with the embossed slogans "SPIRIT OF 76 / BUNKER HILL" and BOSTON THE HOME / OF THE BEAN" highlighted in cobalt. A 3" crack on underside, extending 3 1/4" up one side. A few short, horizontal in-the-firing surface lines to body. Additional surface lines to interior, not visible on exterior. A small in-the-firing chip to underside at edge. Two horizontal hairlines to handle. Lid in excellent condition. H (including lid) 8".
