Painted Stoneware Apothecary Jar, Northeastern U.S. origin, 19th century, cylindrical jar with indented rim and cold-painted exterior and interior surface, inscribed within a banner "MAGN. SULPH." for Manganese Sulphate. Includes tin cover. Jar in excellent condition with a few scratches to paint. Lid with typical wear. H (including lid) 7 3/4".
