Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "N CLARK JR / ATHENS NY," circa 1860, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed stem bearing leaves and two circular blossoms accented with spots. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. One handle with four chips and a small reglued sliver. Two small rim chips. A 2 1/4" Y-shaped surface line to underside. A few spots of staining. A 3 1/4" horizontal surface line at base on side of crock, not visible on interior. H 9 3/8".
