Three Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Advertising Jugs, American, fourth quarter 19th century, a half-gallon cylindrical jug, inscribed "Robt Schwartz / Nanticoke. Pa," attributed to James Ryan, Pittston, PA, circa 1895; a one-gallon jug, inscribed "Eats," Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1885; and a one-gallon jug, inscribed "Schwarz" for a Paterson, NJ merchant, Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1885. Nanticoke jug with some staining to surface and molasses residue to reverse, in otherwise excellent condition. Eats jug with light surface wear around midsection. Schwarz jug in excellent condition with a minor base chip on reverse and some in-the-firing flaws to surface. H (of shortest) 9 1/2".
