Two Stoneware Advertising Jugs, American, second half 19th century, a two-gallon jug with the slip-trailed cobalt advertising, "C.E. Vinton," stamped "E.W. FARRINGTON, / ELMIRA, N.Y.," circa 1890; paired with a two-gallon jug with slip-trailed cobalt foliate design, stamped "JOHN KELLY / SCRANTON," attributed to H. Weston, Honesdale, PA, circa 1860. Vinton jug in excellent condition with traces of old red paint to surface. Kelly jug with spout chips, various firing flaws to surface including bloated spots, and a Y-shaped crack across underside, part of which extends 5" up base of jug. H (of Kelly jug) 12 3/4".
