Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "PENN YAN," NY State origin, circa 1860, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with two large, brushed flowers emanating from a slip-trailed stem. Slip-trailed "3" to shoulder. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Fry to cobalt. Staining to surface. A 2" glazed-over line at base on reverse. H 11 5/8".
