Four Pieces of Stoneware with Cobalt Stripe Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1880, a cylindrical canning jar and tapered canning jar, each with "wax sealer" rims and three-striped brushwork; an ovoid jar with four stripes; and a butter crock with two stripes flanking a swag motif. Smaller canning jar in excellent, essentially as-made condition. Ovoid jar in very nice condition with some surface wear and an area of in-the-firing discoloration to reverse. Taller canning jar with small rim chip, wear to inner wax sealer rim, and large cracks, one of which extends onto underside. Butter crock with very faint surface line to underside, a chip to interior of rim, and staining. H (of tallest) 7 7/8".
