Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jugs, Stamped "WHITES UTICA NY," circa 1870, measuring one and two gallons, both of cylindrical form with similar slip-trailed floral motifs. One-gallon jug with upside-down maker's mark. One-gallon jug with a 2 3/4" x 1 1/4" flake to underside at edge, two base chips (one of which is glazed over), and two small in-the-firing contact marks to shoulder. Two-gallon jug with 5/8" hole in side, various firing flaws to surface, a large glazed-over chip to reverse, a small star-shaped spider line to shoulder, a flake to shoulder on front, and staining. H (of one-gallon jug) 11 1/2".
