Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, NY State origin, mid 19th century, a one-gallon ovoid jar with cobalt tulip decoration, stamped "LYONS," paired with a two-gallon cylindrical jar with slip-trailed floral decoration, stamped "F.A.GALE / GALES VILLE N.Y." Lyons jar in excellent condition with wear to inner rim for lid. Galesville jar with a 5 1/2" crack from rim on reverse, small chips to interior of rim and inner rim for lid, a small chip to one handle, paint residue to reverse, and some staining. H (of Lyons jar) 9 3/4".
