One-Gallon Iron-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "G / CHARLESTOWN," attributed to Frederick Carpenter, Charlestown, MA, early 19th century, highly-ovoid jug with heavy tooling to spout, shoulder, and base, decorated with dipped iron slip on the upper and lower body. Impressed with unusual "G" stamp, presumably denoting one gallon, below spout. As-made condition with an in-the-firing flake (contact mark) to top of spout and a shallow, 1" glazed-over base flake. H 11 1/2".
