Rare Lot of Three Stoneware Pipes, One Signed "AM," Arie Meaders, Cleveland, GA, third quarter 19th century, one with impressed sawtooth design, incised "AM" on underside; one with impressed crescent moon and dot design, unsigned; and one smaller example, unsigned, which was smoked by Joe Nelms, Cleveland chairmaker, and still contains his tobacco. Provenance: Collection of Dr. John A. Burrison, Atlanta, GA; on loan to the Atlanta History Center, Atlanta, GA since 1981. Excellent condition. H (of largest) 2 1/4".
