Unusual Manganese-Decorated Stoneware Flask, NJ origin, early 19th century, flattened form with tooled shoulder and tapered mouth, decorated with manganese brushwork around the shoulder and at the midsection on both sides. Provenance: From a recently-surfaced collection. A small inverted U-shaped surface line to exterior of mouth, which occurred in the firing. A minor base chip. Other minor in-the-firing flaws. H 8".
