Rare Pierced Stoneware Lye Jar, New York State origin, second half 19th century, cylindrical jug with wide-mouthed spout featuring tooled lines and piercing throughout, the surface covered in a clear salt glaze. Used for the production of lye. A tight spider line on underside, forming a long horizontal crack at base. H 14".
