Large-Sized Keg-Form Stoneware Water Cooler with Cobalt Date "1863," NY State origin, 1863, barrel-form with squared rim, circular bunghole, and tooled banding throughout, decorated with the large Civil War era date, "1863," across the front. Cobalt highlights to rim, bunghole, and banding. Chipping to interior of rim. Three small rim chips on reverse. A minuscule nick to bunghole. A small in-the-firing iron ping at base on reverse. Light exfoliation to underside. H 15 1/2".
