Two Pieces of Stoneware with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "W. ROBERTS. BINGHAMTON N.Y.," circa 1870, a two-gallon jar and four-gallon cylindrical crock, both with slip-trailed designs of a crested bird with long tail and spotted, perched on a flowering vine. Cobalt highlights to maker's marks and capacity marks. Two-gallon jar with large area of restoration to rim on reverse, in otherwise as-made condition. Four-gallon crock with significant restoration throughout surface, including surface of underside and some areas of decoration. H 11".
