Very Rare Six-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Pig Decoration, Ohio origin, circa 1875, cylindrical crock decorated with a slip-trailed design of a pig with curled tail, standing atop a stylized ground. Decorated above with a slip-trailed "6" with spotted flourish. Large cobalt spatter to one side. Few pig designs are known in American stoneware. Significant exfoliation to surface. H 14 1/4".
