Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Aquarium Castle, attributed to Wallace and Cornwall Kirkpatrick, Anna Pottery, Anna, IL, circa 1885, tapering, wheel-thrown form with incised bricks, winding staircase, and intricately-carved doorways and windows, the upper body highlighted in cobalt slip under a clear salt glaze. Relatively few Anna Pottery examples of this form have survived. Large loss to top of castle, which probably included an archway and/or cross. Chips to base and a few chips to castle itself. H 2 7/8" ; Diam. 3 1/4".
