Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Shoulder Jug with Original Paper Label, Signed "Lanier Meaders," Cleveland, GA origin, circa 1970, cylindrical jug with squared shoulder, the surface covered in a dark alkaline glaze. Original paper label at base reads, "HAND MADE FOR / PETER MURPHEY / HWY. 191 - P.O. BOX 653 / HENDERSONVILLE, N. C." Underside incised with Lanier Meaders signature. Provenance: Made for sale in the shop of Peter Murphey, Hendersonville, NC. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 8 1/4".
