Four Glazed Redware Flowerpots, primarily Big Hunting Creek Pottery, Mechanicstown (now Thurmont), MD, circa 1880, two of tapered form with crimped rims, decorated with cream-colored slip and splashed manganese under a clear lead glaze, Thurmont, MD origin, probably Anthony Bacher; a third of related form with splashed manganese decoration under a clear lead glaze, Thurmont, MD origin; a fourth of related form with small crimping to rim and splashed manganese decoration under a clear lead glaze, possibly Thurmont, MD. Three with heavy wear to rims and glaze loss. Shortest with heavy wear, glaze loss, and losses to rim. H (of shortest) 5 5/8".
