Slip-Decorated Redware Jar, Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1840, ovoid jar with applied lug handles and slightly-flared rim, decorated around the body with a continuous band of sponged manganese daubs. Further decorated above on the front and reverse with manganese swags, and below with manganese spots. Chips to handles and rim. Some surface wear at midsection.
