Very Rare Stoneware Canning Jar with Crosshatched Cobalt Stripe Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1875, tapered jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, decorated with an elaborate design of four wide vertical stripes crossed with four thinner horizontal stripes. Includes antique removeable tin canning lid. The first Western Pennsylvania canning jar with this style of decoration that we have offered. Chips to interior of rim and inner wax sealer rim. Otherwise excellent condition. H 8".
