Fine Redware Loaf Dish with Elaborate Slip Decoration, Philadelphia, PA origin, early to mid 19th century, drape-molded, oblong form with coggled edge, the lead-glazed interior lavishly-decorated in yellow slip with a wavy band surrounded by various foliate devices and curved trails. A strikingly-decorated example. A very old, smooth 1 5/8" rim chip. Other small rim chips. A small flake to interior surface and minor surface wear. L 17".
