Very Rare Malachiteware Centennial Pitcher Depicting George Washington and Mt. Vernon, attributed to the Edwin Bennett Pottery, Baltimore, MD, circa 1876, molded pitcher with twig-form handle, featuring relief decorations of George Washington's bust and his home, Mount Vernon, the surface covered in a bluish-green glaze. The Bennett Pottery termed pieces with this glaze "malachiteware." Few were produced. This mold is believed to have been made in 1876 to commemorate the American Centennial. Excellent condition with a short, minor line to rim. H 7 7/8".
