Two-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1850, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled rim, decorated around the body with three large tulips. Cobalt swag decoration to collar and spout. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Exceptionally bold cobalt. Includes highly-unusual pierced holes in back of rim to allow for a tin lid. End of spout restored. A small base chip. A 3" hairline from side of rim.
